The former Liverpool manager says coming back to lead Liverpool is theoretically possible.

The German coach, who left Liverpool in 2024, indicated that a future comeback remains an option. The 58-year-old, post a game-changing nine-year spell which brought Champions League success and the Reds’ first league title in 30 years, currently occupies positions as head of global soccer within the Red Bull organization and providing guidance for the DFL.

Supporters’ Hopes and His Frank Comments

The club claimed the league title last season, yet numerous supporters who revere Klopp would welcome the possibility that he may eventually return. During an extensive chat, he explained to his interviewer: “I declared I won't manage another team on English soil. Which implies in case it's my former club...yeah. It's plausible.”

Praise for His Successor

Klopp also spoke emotionally about the death of Diogo Jota, a player he signed during his tenure, and its impact for the team. Jota was killed in a car crash together with his sibling in July.

“Can you substitute somebody like Diogo? It’s not about his on-field talent, it’s the guy he was. I can’t imagine the squad missing him. Putting it into words is tough regarding this. A profound tragedy for his teammates too. No one within the club would cite it to justify results yet it's the reality. You walk in a dressing room where he was omnipresent. Handling this individually is difficult. Impossible.”
